Buster Brown’s First Entry!
Posted by: Janine @ 11:08 am

Every day is a new day! I love “sleeping in” just a little (if I can) and my first dog-duty is to grab my toy-of-the-week and squeak it and run it downstairs. Nini carries my little bed downstairs with the rest of the toys (I do not understand why she brings that upstairs unless it makes her feel secure or something…). I am more interested in eating my breakfast than in anything else at that time. First things first! Then I have to wait until Nini is ready for a walk and several potty stops.

Then comes the major portion of the day which is when Nini sits at this desk and works with this machine. BORING! I much prefer to sit on my big mattress in front of the window and check out the action in the yard. The neighbors’ cats and the squirrels and chipmunks are much more interesting. Even the birds are busy, at least enough to keep the cats ready for action!

Then there’s lunch, more work time for Nini, and finally I can stand it no longer. I cannot bear being ignored and MUST be paid-attention-to so I either jump into her lap or come up and put my paws on her and COMMAND ATTENTION…I PLEAD with my eyes (and my tail….). Then if there is STILL no action on her part, I BARK!!! I BARK until she is forced to notice me and leave that thing, that machine! BARKING usually means “Play with me!!!” And to demonstrate, I grab one of my squeaky toys and run away with it. This signals the beginning of the “catch me if you can and the squeaky is the bait” game!   (To be continued….)

3 Disernment Questions…
Posted by: Janine @ 4:55 pm

3 Discernment (or “Energy”) Questions to ask yourself are:

  1. What is needed here?
  2. Am I the one to do it? (discernment)
  3. Is this the right time ? *

As our time becomes more precious and our energies sapped by multi-tasking or creating work for ourselves…work that is meaningless and simply “filling space and time” I have discovered these 3 questions to be very helpful guides. This leads us toward discernment by examining our “hearts” with reason.

For those of us in the USA who are moving toward Thanksgiving holidays, these guides can help to shape and share our heart and our best energy rather than have that energy usurped by causes not worthy of our time.

Web Dreams!
Posted by: Janine @ 2:35 pm

Several years ago, I kept having these “fish” dreams. Different dreams would offer “different fish” but the fish were few-in-number and their coloring and “water” was not execptional. (It and still is true, I was “fishing” for people-of-faith!)

Then I had this dream…. I dreamed that one by one, thin golden yellow “Angel” or “Sun” fish swam into my office. At first there were just one or two, then more and more came. Then the yellosunfish just started pouring in the door (of my office) and I could not even close the door there were so many of them! My “office” was packed full of fish!

I keep this dream-as-courage for my heart when I become discouraged. It (the dream) is a living image of God’s faithfulness and plenty in times of scarcity. The challenge is to remember-the-dream and the fact that “fishing” was my first and foremost reason for searching to heal the purpose of my life.
